Initializing Identity

“The future cannot be created based on paralyzing pessimism or blind optimism but preferably by purposive sheer efforts.”

As with everything in life, consciousness & change both serve as significant drivers for success and growth. For the better part of the last decade, I’ve had the incredible privilege of learning, leading & driving progress across various organizations & teams, some as a key contributor & others, leading the charge at the forefront.

Among the things I’m particularly grateful for, is the gift of ideas & I dare say, witty inventions. I’ve been diagnosed as one who’s very likely to identify a problem even where others may not see any and carefully leap to design a practical response to meet that need, creating a wave of value for everyone involved.

The last few years haven’t been any short of that; outside of employment engagement, I’ve been opportune to have led several teams in identifying significant gaps across various sectors — fintech, entertainment & digital media, and consumer hardware, amongst others; we've conceived and taken steps towards building remarkable products/rendering services to meet those needs and bridge those gaps. For various reasons, some of these projects have been stalled, others are being developed in stealth, and some others are already in flight.

Alongside, I believe very strongly in collective development & for the better part of this decade, I’ve held my end of the bargain (and I continue to do so), contributing to several social impact initiatives across Africa & beyond.

While in Paris a few weeks ago, I took a minute to reflect on the small but significant impact I’ve had doing all the things I’ve done, and it has led me not just to a place of gratitude, but also toward a re-engineered commitment to do something I’ve always loved doing and have done consistently over the last 10 years — design.

Consequently, I’m at a point where I’ve chosen to be a tad more focused, driven, and vocal about the work that I do while opening up myself and my window, to add even more value, and this is the first step on that journey.

If you’re just meeting me, I’m Joshua Ofor — at my core, I’m a designer & social entrepreneur. I solve problems, tell stories, and create experiences.
